Marsinah: The Brave Deer Who Stood Up for Her Friends

In a lush green forest filled with tall trees and clear rivers, lived a kind and hardworking deer named Marsinah. She was always ready to help. Every morning, Marsinah woke up as the sun rose. She helped her friends — Squirrel, Rabbit, and others — gather food and clean their homes.

After helping her friends, Marsinah went to work at the clock factory run by Big Bear. There, she and her friends — Porcupine, Kancil the small deer, and Monkey — crafted clocks from wood and leaves.

"Tick tock... tick tock..." the sound of the clocks echoed softly. Marsinah loved hearing it. She imagined the young animals playing on time and the forest families returning home without being late.

Even though Marsinah and her friends worked hard, something made them sad. Big Bear only gave them a small amount of food as payment — a few fruits and leaves. They worked from morning till night, but it was never enough.

One day, Marsinah asked Kancil, "What did you eat today?"

Kancil lowered his head and said, "Just dry leaves. I didn’t have enough fruit."

Marsinah felt her heart ache. "We work so hard, but why are we still struggling? This isn’t fair," she thought.

That night, Marsinah gathered her friends under a big tree. The moonlight shone softly as they shared their stories.

"I think we should talk to Big Bear. We deserve better pay for all our hard work," Marsinah said with determination.

Her friends looked at each other. "But… what if Big Bear gets angry?" Porcupine asked nervously.

Marsinah smiled kindly. "If we stick together, we’ll be stronger! We’re not asking for too much — we just want a better life for ourselves and our families."

Finally, her friends agreed. They trusted Marsinah. She wasn’t just a hardworking deer; she was a brave and caring friend.

The next day, Marsinah and her friends bravely talked to Big Bear. They explained how hard they worked and asked for fairer wages.

Big Bear growled angrily. "If you don’t like it, you can leave!" he roared.

Marsinah felt sad, but she didn’t give up. "We have to keep trying. If we stay silent, nothing will ever change," she encouraged her friends.

Unfortunately, an evil wolf overheard Marsinah’s speech. He didn’t like what she was doing. He was afraid Marsinah would inspire all the animals in the forest to stand up for themselves.

One day, Marsinah disappeared. Her friends searched everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found. They felt heartbroken and confused.

"Where’s Marsinah? Why did she leave?" Rabbit asked with teary eyes.

Even though Marsinah was gone, her spirit stayed alive in her friends’ hearts. They kept working and fighting for a better life. They believed Marsinah would want them to stay strong.

Time passed. Marsinah’s friends finally received fair wages. They never forgot Marsinah. They remembered her as a hero.

Every time the clocks went "Tick tock... tick tock...", they felt like they could hear Marsinah’s voice whispering, "Don’t give up, friends. Keep fighting."

The young animals in the forest grew up hearing Marsinah’s story. They learned that being brave and standing up for what’s right is a good thing. Marsinah may be gone, but her name will always live on in the hearts of the forest animals.
